Cost Ranking Report

In this article, we explain how the cost ranking works, its applications, and what is required from you as a customer to generate data in it.

What is the Cost Ranking Report

The Cost Ranking Report is designed for a more detailed ranking of costs and their various components. Currently, it supports ranking the cost of electricity and the overall categories of utility cost, trade cost, and tax. The network cost is further divided into different cost components such as fixed cost, variable cost, power fee, and penalty fee. It is possible to rank the network cost based on one or more of these categories (see the image 1).

Image 1. In the Cost Ranking, you can choose to rank based on trading or utility cost, as well as the various components of the utility cost.

The logic for selecting the properties from the node tree structure that you want to view in the report is the same as for the 'Ranking' report.

In Report Settings, you can filter data based on Property, Operations, Comparable Portfolio, Period of Ownership, and Data Coverage

We support currencies SEK, NOK, DKK, EUR, and PLN.

Why Use Cost Ranking?

Cost ranking can be used to identify properties with the highest electricity costs. It may not necessarily yield the same ranking as when looking at the electricity usage ranking. This provides clarity on whether you have a good or bad cost agreement for the property, prompting a review if necessary. Looking at different period and reference periods can be used to observe how costs have evolved over time, such as after changing electricity agreements.

What is Required from You as a Customer to Generate Data in the Report

There are two ways to include cost items in the portal for the cost ranking.

  1. You can either choose to have Mestro continuously import invoices for electricity costs, automating the process without significant manual effort. If you are interested in this option, please consult your Customer Success Manager or email success@mestro.com for more information.
  2. The second option is to enter your own cost agreements in the 'Cost and Environmental Agreements' module and link them to properties or meters. In this case, you also need to tag the meters correctly with, for example, fuse size or subscribed power. This option requires a bit more manual effort.
