Release May 29th 2025

In this release, we’re introducing powerful new features and integrations to make energy data management even smarter. From area-based virtual meters to enhanced API functionality and new system integrations — there’s plenty to explore!

Area-Based Virtual Meters

A major update and expansion of Mestro’s Virtual Meters is being released – namely, the ability to allocate meters based on the area of a building or building component in relation to the total property area. The percentage distribution is also automatically updated if the area of included buildings, components, or properties is changed in the portal – talk about dynamic!

Cooling Index from SMHI

Mestro Portal now supports normal year adjustment of cooling using SMHI’s Cooling Index! To use this feature, you as a customer first need to order the Cooling Index from SMHI – you can do so by contacting SMHI! You can read more here.

The type house needs to be entered for your properties and buildings with cooling meters in order for the cooling data to be climate-adjusted in reports. The type house is added as an attribute via "Edit," under the category Building Technical Information

API Updates

Mestro’s external API is continuously updated and maintained throughout the year, and the latest information is always available via our API documentation: api.mestro.io

However, we want to highlight two major updates in this article!

First, two types of meter tags are now exposed in the API: the User tag and the Purchaser tag. This is helpful for those of you who want to divide your energy flows into scopes for emissions reporting.

The endpoints /upload and /uploadJSON were deprecated during the spring and have been replaced by new endpoints. Read more in our changelog under version 1.7.0.

New Integrations

As part of Mestro’s data collection service, we are continuously building new integrations for exporting meter data as well as integrations to property and tenant systems. Below we highlight a selection of new integrations recently established.

Property Information from Unit4

We now offer an integration with Unit4, which includes continuous updating and mirroring of property and building information, based on the Unit4 Property Management (UPM) system. Contact your customer representative or our support team to learn more!

We also have several integrations with other property systems – feel free to contact us to explore the possibility of automatically retrieving property information for your portfolio.

Other News in the Mestro Sphere

Our knowledge base (where you are now!) will be moving to a new home this summer. The same articles and categories will still be available in the new knowledge base, but it will look slightly different and old links will not redirect. Once the move is complete, we will share information in the portal!

Mestro Support will be moving to a new and improved system, ServiceNow, in June. As a customer, you’ll be able to register support tickets and view the current status of all your active cases. Separate information and guides for this system will be published via Mestro Portal and emailed to you as a user.

The email address support@mestro.com will still be available as well!
